Pins and Needles in New Hampshire

We just returned from a quick trip to New Hampshire. I had an interview with a group at Dartmouth College researching surgery outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease. The interviews went great. I feel like I left a good impression. They also left a good impression on me. Unfortunately I will still need to wait another week to know if I got the job or not as there is another person they are considering. Wendi and I are hoping that if they do offer me the job that it will be enough so that Wendi will be able to stay home with the kids. I also pray that if they don't offer me enough that I will be able to find a one- or two-night-a-week teaching position or something. I would like nothing more that for Wendi and the kids to be happy during the transition.

The New Hampshire area is beautiful. We got to stay at the Hanover Inn which is across the street from the Dartmouth green.

While I was in my interviews, which went from 10am to 3pm, Wendi took advantage of the time to drive and see the area. She drove to Quechee, to a maple farm, and even went to Woodstock to see if any hippies were still around. She didn't see any.

After my interviews, Wendi and I drove back out to Vermont to see the birthplace of Joseph Smith in Sharon. Once again it was another beautiful drive. While we were there we took a tour which included a movie on Joseph Smith, much like the movie shown in the Legacy Theater in Salt Lake, only it was narrated and told from Lucy Mack Smith's point of view. The site had a good spirit and was enjoyable.
