Hanover 4th of July

This year for the 4th of July, we tried to make the most of the fact that we were missing out on the traditional family gathering in Idaho Falls.
We packed the kids into town for the "parade" which was a little sad to tell you the truth. It was about 10 minutes long and consisted of 6 or 7 groups of people walking by. The kids each got maybe like 4 pieces of candy.
We did meet up with lots of friends from the ward though so that was fun. We never really plan to see people we know but always seem to end up with a group of ward members. It's so great that we have a big ward.
Kate was excited about her little bit of candy.
Carter was more melancholy and was like, "Seriously? That's it?"
We did walk to the Green (center of town) after the parade though and they had all the big fire engines parked so the kids got to climb around on them. They had fun doing that. They also had free ice cream cones so the day wasn't a total loss.

Nothing better than a messy ice cream cone on a hot day!

We missed you tons, Wendi! It really didn't seem the same without you! (And I'm not just saying that!) It is pretty sad that Carter has been so spoiled from the "SPECTACULAR" parade in IF for so long that the parade there seemed sad.... ha ha!

I've had fun looking through your blog. Man I miss that place and all our friends there. That was a pathetic parade indeed! Miss you lots
