Utah Trip 2013

We made our annual pilgrimage to Utah this year from July 26 - August 3.  Because of our recent move and change in Chad's job, our trip was pretty short this year.  Chad actually only got to stay for less than 48 hours, sadly.  We crammed as much in as we could in those days.  I need to get pictures of the first couple days from Chad's sisters since we spent the first weekend with the Bohn family while Chad was with us.

We had so many people to see and so many things to do.  I was exhausted by the end of the trip but it was so fun and so refreshing to see family and friends that we love so much.

We saw a beautiful rainbow.  It was a full rainbow and so vibrant.  The kids were already bathed and in their P.J.s but Uncle Tan carried them out to take a look.

We got to have a visit from one of my best friends, Jana, and her cute kids.  We went for a walk around the block which was fun for the kids but too hot for me and Lydia!

We spent lots of time with cousins on both sides of the family.  Here is Carter, Eli, Noah, and Kate in Grandma's back yard.

Lydia tried ice cream for the first time.  She REALLY liked it and cried when it got taken away.

I rented a van so we could go up to I.F. to visit Grandma Whittier.  We drove up for lunch at a park with a few of my cousins and then went to Grandma's house to visit for awhile.  It was a quick trip but Grandma is 89 years old and I wanted to visit her while I could.  Grandma Whittier is the most faithful, wonderful woman I know and I love her so much.

We also got to hang out with my friend, Ashley Rosser, and her kids for an afternoon.  Eli and Riley hit it off and had a ton of fun getting really wet.

Kate and Emery also became good friends and had fun playing with Grandma's dolls.

Ashley's baby, Campbell, is 3 months younger than Lydia and so tiny!  She only weighed 4 lbs at birth and is still so petite.  Lydia looks like a sumo wrestler next to her!

We spent a day with the Reynolds family too.  We went to Merlin Olsen Park in Logan and the kids played for 5 hours straight in the little river.  Uncle Tanner was in charge and did an awesome job planning kid-friendly activities.  He bought all the kids a little plastic boat for them to have a "Reynolds Regatta" which was a tradition my Dad started years ago when we were kids.

After the 5 hours of water play the kids made Fruit Loop necklaces, blew bubbles...and then got back in the water until we made them get out and go back to Grandma's house for dinner.
